Appliance Repair & Installation in Manhattan: One Contact for the Entire PropertyAn appliance problem is rarely complicated from the client's point of view.
The refrigerator is warm.
The washing machine is not draining.
The dryer is making a sound it did not make yesterday.
The restaurant ice machine stopped producing ice before the evening shift.
The problem becomes complicated when every appliance requires another company, another appointment, another explanation and another person who needs access to the property.
At
A Guy Who Can Fix It, we approach Appliance Repair & Installation with a broader idea:
The client should not need a different number for every machine in the property. Our Guys diagnose, repair, install and maintain residential and commercial appliances throughout Manhattan.
That may mean repairing one dishwasher in an apartment.
It may mean installing a complete suite of premium kitchen appliances in a newly finished residence.
It may mean servicing the refrigeration, cooking, dishwashing and laundry equipment used by a Manhattan business.
The equipment changes.
The point of contact does not.Residential & Commercial Appliance Service in Manhattan

Sometimes the repair is completed during the first visit.
Sometimes the appliance needs an OEM part.
Sometimes the correct recommendation is replacement rather than repair.
The job of the technician is not to sell the most complicated answer.
It is to identify the actual problem and explain the practical options.Appliance Diagnostics: Find the Problem Before Replacing Parts
Modern appliances are systems.
A refrigerator that is not cooling may have an airflow problem, sensor issue, control failure, defrost problem, fan failure, sealed-system restriction or refrigerant leak.
A washer that does not drain may have a blocked pump, damaged pump, wiring issue, control problem or obstruction somewhere else in the drain path.
An oven that does not reach temperature may have a failed igniter, heating element, sensor, control or gas-related issue.
Replacing the first component associated with the symptom is not diagnosis.
Our standard diagnostic appointment is
$149 for the first hour.
During that time, the Guy evaluates the appliance, identifies the likely failure and determines what is required to continue.
If the repair can be completed within the visit without special parts, the technician explains the work and proceeds with the client's approval.
If parts or additional labor are required, the technician provides the repair price after diagnosis and before the next stage of work.
The client can then make an informed decision.
Repair it.
Replace it.
Or take time to consider the economics.
Diagnosis first. Recommendation second. Parts only when they are actually needed.Refrigerator Repair in Manhattan
The refrigerator is one of the few appliances that works continuously.
When it stops maintaining temperature, time matters.
We diagnose and repair residential refrigerators, including freestanding, counter-depth, built-in, column, French-door, side-by-side, bottom-freezer, top-freezer, undercounter and panel-ready models.
Common refrigerator problems include:
- Refrigerator not cooling
- Freezer not freezing
- Refrigerator warm but freezer cold
- Both compartments too warm
- Food freezing in the refrigerator section
- Water leaking onto the floor
- Ice buildup
- Excessive frost
- Refrigerator running constantly
- Compressor not starting
- Unusual noises
- Fan noise
- Temperature fluctuations
- Door not sealing correctly
- Water dispenser not working
- Ice maker not producing ice
- Error codes
- Control panel problems
- Interior lighting or sensor issues
- Condensation around doors or cabinets
The repair may involve sensors, fans, controls, defrost components, water valves, door components, sealed-system parts or another model-specific component.
The symptom tells us where to begin.
Testing tells us what failed.
Freezer Repair
Freezers fail in several different ways.
Some stop cooling completely.
Some remain cold but cannot reach a safe storage temperature.
Some develop heavy frost, ice around the evaporator, water beneath the unit or temperature instability that damages stored products over time.
We service upright freezers, drawer freezers, undercounter freezers, built-in freezer columns, chest freezers and commercial freezer equipment.
Freezer repair can include airflow, defrost, door-seal, sensor, control and sealed-system diagnosis.
For commercial clients, temperature instability should be addressed promptly because product loss can become more expensive than the repair itself.
Ice Maker & Ice Machine Repair
An ice maker may stop because of the ice maker assembly, water supply, inlet valve, temperature, sensor, control, frozen fill tube or another related component.
We service:
- Refrigerator ice makers
- Built-in residential ice machines
- Undercounter ice makers
- Commercial ice machines
- Hotel and hospitality ice equipment
- Bar and restaurant ice machines
Commercial ice equipment adds water quality, drainage, production demand, sanitation and operating conditions to the diagnostic process.
For businesses, the useful question is not only whether the machine can make ice.
It is whether it can produce the required quantity reliably during actual operating hours.
Wine Cooler & Beverage Center Repair
Wine coolers and beverage centers are increasingly integrated into Manhattan kitchens, bars, offices, hospitality spaces and entertainment areas.
We service freestanding, undercounter, built-in, dual-zone and panel-ready units.
Common issues include:
- Unit not cooling
- Temperature variation between zones
- Excessive condensation
- Fan noise
- Compressor problems
- Control or sensor failures
- Door and gasket problems
- Interior lighting issues
- Water accumulation
Temperature control matters, particularly when the contents are valuable or the unit is built into finished cabinetry.
The appliance and the surrounding installation should be evaluated together.
Sealed-System Refrigeration Repair
Not every cooling problem is an ordinary component replacement.
When the failure involves the refrigerant circuit, the project becomes sealed-system work.
Our refrigeration capabilities include:
- Refrigerant leak diagnosis
- Electronic and pressure-based leak testing
- Nitrogen pressure testing
- Refrigerant recovery where required
- Vacuum and evacuation
- Refrigerant charging
- Compressor replacement
- Evaporator replacement
- Condenser replacement
- Filter-drier replacement
- Repair of accessible refrigerant-line leaks
- Sealed-system restriction diagnosis
- System performance testing
Work that can open or affect a refrigeration circuit is completed by appropriately
EPA Section 608-certified technicians.
Sealed-system repair should not be reduced to adding refrigerant and hoping for the best.
If refrigerant was lost, there is a reason.
The system needs to be evaluated, the failure identified and the repair completed according to the equipment and refrigerant type.
Commercial Refrigeration Repair in Manhattan
Commercial refrigeration operates under different pressure than a residential refrigerator.
A restaurant reach-in may be opened hundreds of times during service.
A prep table must maintain temperature while the kitchen around it becomes hot.
A display case has to protect product while remaining presentable to customers.
A walk-in cooler may support the operation of an entire business.
We service commercial refrigeration equipment including:
- Reach-in refrigerators
- Reach-in freezers
- Pass-through refrigeration
- Roll-in and roll-through units
- Undercounter refrigerators and freezers
- Worktop refrigerators and freezers
- Sandwich and salad prep tables
- Pizza prep tables
- Chef bases
- Refrigerated drawers
- Merchandisers and display cases
- Glass-door refrigerators
- Bar refrigerators
- Back-bar coolers
- Commercial wine and beverage coolers
- Walk-in coolers
- Walk-in freezers
- Commercial ice machines
- Dual-temperature refrigeration
Commercial service may involve refrigeration, airflow, controls, doors, gaskets, drains, condensers, evaporators, fans and electrical components inside the equipment.
Our Guys evaluate the machine in the context of how the business actually uses it.
Walk-In Cooler & Freezer Service
Walk-in equipment is more than a large refrigerator.
The box, refrigeration system, evaporator, condensing unit, controls, doors, gaskets, drainage and operating environment all affect performance.
We diagnose and service walk-in coolers and freezers for restaurants, cafés, hospitality properties, retail operations and other Manhattan businesses.
Common concerns include:
- Temperature too high
- Unit running continuously
- Evaporator icing
- Condenser problems
- Drainage issues
- Fan failures
- Door and gasket problems
- Control or sensor failures
- Refrigerant leaks
- Compressor problems
Because commercial food storage can involve health, inventory and operational consequences, the client should respond to temperature changes early rather than waiting for complete failure.
Washing Machine Repair
Washing machines combine water, movement, electronics and drainage in one cabinet.
We repair front-load, top-load, compact, built-in and commercial washers.
Common washer problems include:
- Washer not draining
- Washer not spinning
- Door or lid not locking
- Water leaking
- Excessive vibration
- Machine moving during spin
- Washer not filling
- Washer overfilling
- Cycle stopping unexpectedly
- Error codes
- Unusual noise
- Molded or damaged door gasket
- Detergent dispenser problems
- Control panel failure
- Clothes remaining too wet
The repair may involve a pump, lock, valve, gasket, suspension, sensor, motor, control or another model-specific component.
For apartments with finished flooring and cabinetry, controlling water and protecting the area around the unit are part of the service.
Dryer Repair & Internal Cleaning
We repair electric and gas dryers, including freestanding, compact, commercial and stacked units.
Common dryer problems include:
- Dryer not heating
- Dryer overheating
- Clothes taking too long to dry
- Drum not turning
- Drum loose or rubbing
- Burning smell
- Dryer shutting off
- Dryer not starting
- Excessive noise
- Squealing or grinding
- Clothes becoming marked or damaged
- Error codes
- Door-switch problems
- Control failures
Dryer repair may involve heating components, igniters, gas-valve components, rollers, bearings, belts, pulleys, motors, sensors, switches and controls.
We also perform internal dryer cleaning and maintenance when the machine is opened for service or scheduled maintenance.
We do not service building ventilation systems or dryer vent ducts. If a problem is caused by the building's venting system, we identify that possibility so the client or building can engage the appropriate ventilation contractor.
Stacked Washer & Dryer Service
Stacked laundry is common in Manhattan and requires planning beyond the repair itself.
A failed component may be located in the lower washer while a heavy dryer remains installed above it.
Access can be restricted by closets, cabinetry, doors, flooring or limited clearance.
Depending on the equipment and property, the project may require two Guys to safely move, separate or reinstall the units.
We service factory-stacked laundry centers as well as separately manufactured washers and dryers installed with approved stacking kits.
The objective is not simply to access the broken component.
It is to complete the repair and return the laundry installation to the correct position.
Dishwasher Repair
A dishwasher can fail without becoming completely silent.
It may run but leave dishes dirty.
It may drain slowly, leak intermittently, stop mid-cycle or display an error only under certain conditions.
We repair residential and commercial dishwashers.
Common dishwasher problems include:
- Dishwasher not draining
- Water leaking
- Dishwasher not filling
- Dishes not getting clean
- Unit not drying
- Door not closing or latching
- Cycle not completing
- Pump noise
- Error codes
- Float or leak-sensor activation
- Rack or rail problems
- Detergent dispenser failure
- Control panel problems
- Heating problems
For integrated and panel-ready dishwashers, alignment with cabinetry and the surrounding kitchen is part of the complete installation.
Oven, Range, Stove & Cooktop Repair
Cooking equipment may be gas, electric, induction or dual-fuel.
We diagnose and repair residential and commercial:
- Wall ovens
- Double ovens
- Ranges
- Stoves
- Cooktops
- Rangetops
- Induction cooktops
- Gas burners
- Electric burners and elements
- Warming drawers
- Steam ovens
- Commercial ovens
- Commercial ranges
- Commercial cooktops
- Griddles
- Fryers
- Restaurant cooking lines
Common problems include:
- Oven not reaching temperature
- Temperature inconsistent
- Burner not igniting
- Igniter clicking continuously
- Gas burner lighting intermittently
- Electric element not heating
- Induction zone not recognizing cookware
- Control or display failure
- Oven door not closing
- Convection fan problems
- Error codes
- Unit overheating
- Appliance not powering on
Gas-appliance service and any work involving gas piping, installation or regulated connections are completed within the appropriate NYC licensed scope.
For restaurant equipment, gas piping changes and fire-suppression or hood-system work may require separately licensed trades and agency approvals.
Range Hood Service—Not Ventilation Service
We service and install range hood appliances, including controls, lighting, accessible fans, filters and appliance components where appropriate.
We do
not clean, repair, alter or install building ventilation ducts, exhaust shafts or commercial hood fire-suppression systems.
The distinction matters.
The hood is an appliance.
The ductwork beyond it is a ventilation system.
When a problem originates outside the appliance, we explain what type of contractor the property needs next.
Garbage Disposal Repair & Replacement
Garbage disposals are small appliances with a direct impact on how a kitchen functions.
We diagnose, repair, replace and install residential and appropriate commercial disposals.
Common issues include:
- Disposal humming but not turning
- Unit not starting
- Water leaking
- Excessive vibration
- Jammed mechanism
- Damaged mounting assembly
- Electrical switch or connection problems
- Failed motor
- Improperly installed drain connections
When replacement is more sensible than repair, we can help select or collect the correct unit, remove the old disposal and install the replacement within the appropriate plumbing and electrical scope.
Appliance Installation in Manhattan
Repair is only one part of Appliance Service.
We also install residential and commercial appliances, including:
- Refrigerators and freezers
- Built-in refrigeration
- Refrigerator and freezer columns
- Ice makers and ice machines
- Wine coolers and beverage centers
- Washing machines
- Electric and gas dryers
- Stacked washer and dryer units
- Dishwashers
- Ovens and wall ovens
- Ranges and stoves
- Cooktops and rangetops
- Range hoods as appliances
- Garbage disposals
- Commercial refrigeration
- Commercial cooking equipment
- Built-in coffee machines
- Built-in and over-the-range microwaves
- Countertop coffee machines and microwaves when installation or placement is required
Coffee machines and microwaves are installation-only equipment for our service. We do not repair them.Installation may include delivery coordination, unpacking, positioning, leveling, securing, anti-tip hardware, stacking, panel alignment, accessible utility connections, startup checks and removal of packaging to the property's designated disposal area.
Regulated gas, plumbing and electrical work remains within the applicable licensed scope.
Built-In, Integrated & Panel-Ready Appliances
Premium kitchens increasingly conceal the appliance inside the design.
Panel-ready refrigerators, integrated dishwashers, concealed laundry, built-in coffee machines and flush-installed cooking equipment must work technically and align visually with the surrounding cabinetry.
We install and service:
- Panel-ready refrigerators
- Integrated refrigerator and freezer columns
- Panel-ready dishwashers
- Built-in wine storage
- Undercounter refrigeration
- Concealed laundry installations
- Built-in coffee machines
- Steam ovens
- Warming drawers
- Induction cooktops
- Built-in microwaves
- Oversized premium refrigerators
Door alignment, panel clearances, ventilation requirements, water connections, anti-tip systems and surrounding millwork may all affect the project.
The appliance should not merely fit into the opening.
It should operate correctly inside the finished kitchen.Complete Appliance Setup for a New Residence
A newly completed Manhattan residence may receive an entire appliance package at once.
Refrigeration.
Cooking equipment.
Dishwashers.
Laundry.
Wine storage.
Built-in coffee equipment.
Instead of coordinating a separate installer for each box, our team can approach the property as one appliance installation project.
Multiple Guys can be scheduled when heavy equipment, stacked installations or several rooms are involved.
Deliveries are coordinated.
Old equipment is disconnected and removed where applicable.
New appliances are positioned and installed.
Panels and doors are adjusted.
Equipment is checked for operation.
Packaging is organized for removal.
The client receives one point of contact for the complete setup.
Appliance Removal, Delivery & Haul-Away
Replacing an appliance in Manhattan includes logistics.
Building reservations, elevators, service entrances, delivery windows, floor protection, narrow doors and disposal rules can take as much coordination as the installation.
Our service can include:
- Delivery coordination
- Receiving equipment through an authorized representative
- Moving appliances within the property where practical
- Unpacking
- Removal of the existing appliance
- Installation of the replacement
- Moving the old unit to the building's designated disposal area
- Packaging breakdown
- Removal to an approved recycling or junk facility for an additional charge
The client does not need to solve parking or ordinary Manhattan transportation logistics for the Guys.
That is part of our operation.
OEM Parts Only
We use
OEM replacement parts for appliance repairs.
The objective is compatibility with the specific model, correct fit and appropriate operation—not simply finding a component that looks similar online.
After diagnosis, the technician identifies the required part and sources it through an appropriate supplier.
No parts deposit is required under our standard process.
The client approves the complete repair price before the part is ordered and the repair proceeds.
Manufacturer or supplier warranty terms apply to the part itself. Our 90-day workmanship warranty applies to the work we complete within its stated scope.

The brand matters.
The exact model matters more.
Send the model and serial information when booking whenever it is available.
Preventive Appliance Maintenance
Appliance service should not begin only after a complete failure.
Preventive maintenance can identify developing problems, improve operating conditions and reduce the number of separate emergency appointments across a property.
Maintenance may include:
- Refrigerator condenser cleaning
- Inspection of accessible refrigeration components
- Temperature and operational checks
- Interior dryer cleaning
- Washer gasket inspection or replacement
- Dishwasher inspection and cleaning
- Filter replacement
- Ice maker and ice machine cleaning
- Accessible drain and water-component inspection
- Door, hinge and gasket adjustments
- Review of error history and operating concerns
- Commercial equipment maintenance visits
- Seasonal inspections at second homes
We do not service ventilation ductwork as part of maintenance.
For property managers and clients with several appliances, multiple machines can be reviewed during one scheduled visit.
Property Management Appliance Service
Property managers should not need to begin a new contractor search every time another appliance reports an error code.
We provide appliance service for:
- Individual luxury residences
- Multi-unit residential properties
- Rental apartments
- Corporate apartments
- Offices
- Retail properties
- Restaurants and hospitality businesses
- Owners with multiple residences
For properties we service regularly, our team can become familiar with the equipment, access procedures, building requirements and service history.
A scheduled visit may include refrigeration, laundry, cooking equipment, dishwashers, ice machines and other property items.
The manager sends one request.
We coordinate the required Guys.
The property receives one service relationship instead of a list of disconnected vendors.
One property. Many appliances. One trusted point of contact.Appliance Service for Restaurants & Businesses
For a business, appliance downtime is operational downtime.
A failed refrigerator can threaten inventory.
A dishwasher problem can interrupt service.
A cooking-equipment failure can remove an item or an entire station from the menu.
A laundry failure can affect hospitality operations.
Our commercial Appliance Repair service covers refrigeration, ice equipment, dishwashing, cooking, laundry and other appliances used by Manhattan businesses.
We offer flexible scheduling, including same-day, evening, weekend and off-hours appointments depending on the equipment, access and project scope.
For larger commercial projects, multiple Guys and fixed project pricing may be arranged.
We coordinate with managers, facilities teams, building representatives and other authorized personnel so the business owner does not need to personally supervise every appointment.
Appliance Service When You Are Not Home
The owner does not necessarily need to reorganize the day around an appliance appointment.
With authorized access, we regularly coordinate through:
Building management • Property managers • Household staff • Personal assistants • Doormen • Facilities teams • Restaurant managers • Other authorized representativesBefore the visit, send:
- Appliance type
- Brand
- Model and serial information
- Photos or video of the problem
- Error code
- Description of the symptoms
- Property location
- Access instructions
- COI requirements
- Preferred appointment time
The more we know before arrival, the better prepared the Guy can be.
The appliance is diagnosed.
The options are communicated.
The client continues with the day.
That is how premium property service should work.
Appliance Service at Second Homes
Many Manhattan clients maintain additional residences in the Hamptons, Hudson Valley, Catskills, Westchester, Connecticut or New Jersey.
For established clients and suitable projects, Appliance Repair, Installation and Maintenance at a second home may be arranged in advance.
This can be particularly useful for:
- Complete appliance installations
- Seasonal property preparation
- Refrigerator and freezer checks
- Ice machine service
- Laundry setup
- Kitchen appliance projects
- Preventive maintenance
- Coordination before the owner arrives
Location, travel, crew, equipment and scheduling are evaluated individually.
The principle remains the same:
The client already has a Guy. The ZIP code changed.Insured, Certified & Experienced Appliance Service
Our Appliance Guys bring years of hands-on service experience, including five-star work histories developed through platforms such as TaskRabbit, Thumbtack and Angi.
Technical work is assigned according to the equipment and required qualifications.
This includes:
- EPA Section 608-certified refrigeration technicians
- Manufacturer-specific technical training where applicable
- Appropriate licensed scope for regulated gas work
- Insured service
- Certificate of Insurance availability
- Professional tools and diagnostic equipment
All work is backed by a
90-day workmanship warranty within the applicable repair or installation scope.
The warranty does not convert every unrelated future failure into the same repair. Manufacturer defects, pre-existing damage, unrelated components and problems outside the completed scope remain separate issues.
Clear expectations protect the client and the service relationship.
24/7, Same-Day & Flexible Scheduling
Appliances do not check the calendar before failing.
Our scheduling is built around Manhattan homes and businesses, including:
- Same-day availability
- 24/7 emergency requests
- Early morning appointments
- Evening appointments
- Weekend service
- Business off-hours
- Coordination with building access windows
- Average emergency arrival around 45 minutes when location and technician availability allow
Not every repair can be completed immediately if a model-specific OEM part is required.
But diagnosis can begin, the risk can be evaluated and the next step can be organized quickly.
What We Do Not Repair
Clear scope is part of good service.
We do not repair:
- Microwaves
- Coffee machines
- Small countertop appliances
- Vacuum cleaners
- Air conditioners
- Boilers
- HVAC equipment
- Building ventilation systems
- Dryer vent ducts
- Commercial exhaust ducts
- Hood fire-suppression systems
Microwaves and coffee machines may be installed, positioned or replaced as part of Appliance Installation, but internal repair is not offered.
Appliances that have been substantially disassembled, modified or damaged by previous unauthorized work are evaluated individually. Model and serial information should be available whenever possible because accurate parts identification may otherwise be impossible.
