Plumbing Help in Manhattan: Everyday Repairs, Fixture Installation & Property CareNot every plumbing problem requires a major plumbing project.
Sometimes a faucet drips.
A toilet runs.
A shower cartridge stops controlling the temperature correctly.
A new vanity arrives and needs to be installed.
A water filter needs another cartridge.
A dishwasher, refrigerator or washing machine needs the correct water connection.
The task may be relatively small.
The interruption is not.
At
A Guy Who Can Fix It, Plumbing Help is built around the everyday plumbing needs of Manhattan homes and businesses.
We repair and install fixtures, investigate minor leaks, connect appliances, install filtration equipment and maintain the plumbing items that clients interact with every day.
This is not sewer work, emergency pipe service or complete building plumbing.

One faucet.
A complete bathroom fixture package.
Several kitchens and restrooms across a managed property.
Different scope.
Same Guy. Same standard of service.Faucet Repair & Installation in Manhattan
The faucet is one of the most frequently used mechanical items in a property.
When it drips, sticks, leaks beneath the handle or stops controlling temperature correctly, the problem becomes part of every day until it is fixed.
We repair and install:
- Kitchen faucets
- Bathroom faucets
- Bar faucets
- Prep faucets
- Touchless faucets
- Touch-activated faucets
- Smart faucets
- Pull-down and pull-out faucets
- Bridge faucets
- Wall-mounted faucets
- Widespread faucets
- Centerset faucets
- Single-hole faucets
- Pot fillers
- Commercial hand-sink faucets
- Commercial prep-sink faucets
Faucet repair may involve an OEM cartridge, valve component, aerator, handle, hose, spray head, seal or another manufacturer-specific part.
Faucet installation may require working within tight cabinetry, aligning multiple components, connecting supply hoses and adjusting the fixture so that it operates correctly without interfering with the sink, backsplash or surrounding millwork.
The finished result should feel deliberate.
The faucet should be stable.
The handles should align.
The spray hose should move freely.
The connections should remain dry.
Expensive fixture or everyday fixture, the standard is the same.
It needs to work correctly and look right in the room.Premium & Designer Faucet Installation
Designer plumbing fixtures often require more preparation than ordinary retail fixtures.
Components may arrive separately.
The rough opening may be unusual.
Specialized cartridges, mounting hardware or adapters may be required.
Finishes such as polished nickel, unlacquered brass, matte black, brushed gold or living finishes need careful handling during installation.
Inside a finished Manhattan residence, the surrounding environment may include stone countertops, custom cabinetry, glass, tile and millwork.
Protecting those finishes is part of the work.
For premium fixtures, send the manufacturer, model, product link and installation documentation before the appointment whenever possible.
That allows the Guy to understand the fixture before arriving rather than discovering an unusual mounting system after the water has already been turned off.
Sink Installation
A sink is both a plumbing fixture and part of the finished interior.
We install and connect:
- Kitchen sinks
- Bathroom sinks
- Single-bowl sinks
- Double-bowl sinks
- Undermount sinks
- Drop-in sinks
- Vessel sinks
- Pedestal sinks
- Wall-mounted sinks
- Bar and prep sinks
- Utility sinks
- Commercial hand sinks
- Commercial prep sinks
The installation can involve positioning, mounting, faucet integration, drain assembly, disposal connections and accessible supply connections.
Stone fabrication, structural countertop modification and major waste-line relocation are separate scopes and are not automatically included.
When several components are installed together, we approach them as one finished system rather than a collection of unrelated pieces.
The sink, faucet, drain, disposal and cabinetry need to work together.
Bathroom Vanity Installation
A vanity installation sits at the intersection of furniture, plumbing, mounting and finish work.
The cabinet needs to fit the room.
The countertop and sink need to align.
The fixture connections need to remain accessible.
The unit may need leveling, wall attachment, faucet installation, drain assembly and small adjustments to accommodate the existing plumbing location.
We install:
- Freestanding vanities
- Wall-mounted and floating vanities
- Single vanities
- Double vanities
- Designer vanity systems
- Vanities with integrated sinks
- Vanities with separate countertops and vessels
- Commercial restroom vanities
For floating vanities and other wall-mounted designs, the mounting surface and intended load also matter.
Our Furniture Assembly, General Mounting and Plumbing Help capabilities naturally overlap on these projects.
That means the client does not need one company to assemble the cabinet, another to mount it and a third to connect the faucet.
One project. One coordinated team.Toilet Repair & Installation
Toilet problems are usually small enough to look simple and inconvenient enough to need attention immediately.
We repair and install:
- Standard floor-mounted toilets
- One-piece toilets
- Two-piece toilets
- Wall-mounted toilets
- Concealed-tank toilet systems
- Smart toilets
- Commercial toilets
- Flushometer toilets
Common toilet problems include:
- Toilet running continuously
- Weak or incomplete flush
- Water leaking around the base
- Tank components not operating correctly
- Handle problems
- Fill or flush components failing
- Toilet moving at the floor
- Water level problems
- Seat or mounting-hardware issues
- Smart-toilet setup concerns
Repairs may involve OEM internal components, seals, mounting hardware or another fixture-specific part.
Toilet installation may include removal of the existing fixture, inspection of the immediate mounting area, installation of the new toilet, connection, leveling, securing and operational checks.
We do not provide toilet or sewer clog-clearing service.
If the problem is a blockage rather than the fixture itself, the client will need a drain-service provider.
Bidet & Smart Toilet Installation
Bidets have moved from specialty fixture to common Manhattan bathroom upgrade.
We install:
- Bidet seats
- Toto Washlet systems
- Smart toilet seats
- Integrated smart toilets
- Standalone bidets
- Handheld bidet sprayers
The installation depends on the fixture, available water connection, electrical requirements, clearances and existing toilet configuration.
Integrated smart toilets may also require coordination with Electrical Help.
The objective is a clean installation without improvised hoses, loose controls or unnecessary visual clutter.
Shower Fixture Repair & Installation
The shower contains several fixtures that may appear simple from the outside while relying on model-specific components behind the finish.
We work with:
- Showerheads
- Handheld shower systems
- Rain showerheads
- Shower arms
- Slide bars
- Body sprays
- Shower controls
- Diverters
- Mixing valves
- Thermostatic controls
- Shower cartridges
- Tub-and-shower trim
- Exposed shower systems
- Steam-shower fixtures and controls within the appropriate scope
Common concerns include:
- Dripping showerhead
- Temperature difficult to control
- Handle difficult to turn
- Water leaking around the trim
- Diverter not operating correctly
- Hand shower losing pressure
- Cartridge failure
- Fixture finish or hardware damage
- New trim not matching the existing valve
Compatibility matters.
A beautiful trim kit does not automatically fit the valve hidden inside the wall.
Before ordering replacement controls or trim, identify the manufacturer and existing valve whenever possible.
For repair work, we use OEM cartridges, valves and replacement components selected for the actual fixture.
Bathtub Fixtures & Freestanding Tubs
We install and service accessible bathtub fixtures including:
- Tub spouts
- Tub fillers
- Deck-mounted tub fillers
- Wall-mounted tub fillers
- Freestanding tub fillers
- Hand showers
- Diverters
- Accessible drain and overflow components associated with the fixture installation
Freestanding tubs require particularly careful positioning because small alignment errors remain visible in the finished room.
The tub, filler, floor, wall and surrounding tile all need to work as one composition.
Major drainage relocation, waterproofing, shower-pan construction and concealed building plumbing are outside ordinary Plumbing Help.
Minor Leak Repair
Most everyday leaks begin with a small sign.
A drop beneath the sink.
Moisture around a fixture.
Water appearing only when the dishwasher runs.
A toilet seal that leaves a slight mark at the floor.
Addressing those signs early can prevent damage to cabinetry, flooring and the property below.
We repair minor accessible leaks involving:
- Faucets and cartridges
- Fixture hoses and connections
- Accessible supply hoses
- Under-sink connections
- Sink and vanity components
- Toilet seals and fixture components
- Shower and tub fixtures
- Refrigerator water lines
- Ice-maker water lines
- Dishwasher connections
- Washing-machine hoses
- Steam-dryer water connections
- Garbage disposals
- Accessible short sections of copper, PEX or PVC related to the fixture
We do not provide emergency burst-pipe service, building-riser repair, major concealed-pipe repair or flooding response.
If investigation identifies a larger building-plumbing problem, we document what we can observe and explain what type of service the property needs next.
Leak Detection & Thermal Imaging
Water does not always appear directly beneath the source.
It can travel along cabinetry, flooring, framing or finished surfaces before becoming visible.
Our leak investigation may include:
- Visual inspection
- Moisture-meter readings
- Thermal imaging using professional TOPDON equipment
- Fixture-by-fixture testing
- Controlled operation of connected appliances
- Accessible pressure and connection checks within the service scope
- Inspection beneath sinks and behind accessible panels
- Smart leak-sensor evaluation
Thermal imaging does not magically see through walls.
It identifies temperature patterns that may help narrow the search area when moisture changes the thermal behavior of a surface.
The result must still be interpreted together with moisture readings, fixture use and the physical layout of the property.
Sometimes the investigation leads to an accessible fixture connection that we can repair immediately.
Sometimes the evidence points to concealed building plumbing outside our scope.
Either way, a more focused answer is more useful than opening random sections of a finished wall.
Opening & Restoring Walls, Ceilings and Tile
Some fixture repairs and leak investigations require access behind a finished surface.
When appropriate, our team can carefully open a limited section of drywall, ceiling or tile to reach the service area.
After the Plumbing Help work is completed, related restoration may include:
- Drywall patching
- Joint compound and sanding
- Primer and paint
- Reinstallation or replacement of accessible tile
- Caulking and finish touch-ups
- Reassembly of access panels or cabinetry components
Restoration is evaluated as part of the project because materials, finish matching and drying time can affect the schedule.
Major water-damage restoration, mold remediation, asbestos or lead abatement and structural reconstruction are not included.
The goal is to solve the plumbing issue while treating the finished property as one complete environment.
Minor Accessible Pipe Work
Plumbing Help is not a repiping service.
We do not build new building systems, replace risers or take on major concealed pipe projects.
When a fixture installation or minor repair involves a short, accessible section of
copper, PEX or PVC, the necessary connection or localized adjustment may be included when appropriate.
Pipe work remains secondary to the fixture or everyday repair—not the primary service being sold.
If the project requires rough plumbing, extensive relocation, complete repiping or work on a building stack, it falls outside Plumbing Help.
Garbage Disposal Repair & Installation
Garbage disposals combine plumbing, mounting and electrical operation beneath the kitchen sink.
We provide:
- Garbage disposal diagnosis
- Jam clearing inside the appliance mechanism
- Disposal repair when practical
- Disposal replacement
- New disposal installation
- Sink mounting
- Dishwasher drain connection
- Accessible drain connection associated with the installation
- Operational and leak checks
We work with InSinkErator, Waste King and other residential and appropriate commercial disposal equipment.
A disposal that hums but does not turn may be jammed.
A unit leaking through the housing may need replacement.
A poorly mounted disposal may vibrate, move or leak at the sink flange.
The correct solution depends on where the failure occurs.
Water Filter Installation & Cartridge Replacement
Water filtration can range from one cartridge beneath a sink to a multi-stage system serving a complete apartment.
We install and maintain:
- Under-sink water filters
- Multi-stage filtration systems
- Reverse-osmosis systems
- Whole-apartment filtration systems within the appropriate project scope
- Drinking-water faucets
- Refrigerator filters
- Ice-maker filtration
- Commercial water filters
- Instant hot-water dispensers
- Chilled-water systems
- Sparkling-water systems
- Replacement cartridges
Filter service should follow the manufacturer's requirements and the actual water usage of the property.
A cartridge that is technically installed but not seated, flushed or connected correctly is not a completed service.
For premium drinking-water systems, send the manufacturer and model before the appointment so the correct cartridge, fittings and documentation can be prepared.
Refrigerator & Ice-Maker Water Lines
A refrigerator or ice maker may be mechanically perfect and still fail to produce water or ice if the supply connection is incorrect.
We install, replace and service accessible water lines and fixture-side connections for:
- Freestanding refrigerators
- Built-in refrigerators
- Refrigerator and freezer columns
- Residential ice makers
- Undercounter ice machines
- Commercial ice machines
- Water dispensers
The work may involve routing an accessible line, connecting the appliance, integrating a filter and checking the system for leaks.
Major concealed pipe routing or new building plumbing is evaluated separately and may fall outside Plumbing Help.
Dishwasher & Washing-Machine Connections
Appliance installation often overlaps with Plumbing Help.
We handle accessible water and drain connections for:
- Residential dishwashers
- Panel-ready dishwashers
- Commercial dishwashers at the equipment connection
- Washing machines
- Stacked laundry
- Steam dryers
This may include new manufacturer-specified hoses, drain routing, connection checks and coordination with the Appliance Repair & Installation service.
We do not clear blocked building drains or modify major waste systems.
If the appliance connection is correct but the building drain cannot accept water, the property needs drain-service support.
Finish Plumbing for Bathrooms & Kitchens
Plumbing Help can become part of a larger bathroom or kitchen project without becoming a full rough-plumbing operation.
We provide finish plumbing for:
- Faucets
- Sinks
- Vanities
- Toilets
- Bidets
- Shower trim
- Tub fillers
- Garbage disposals
- Water filters
- Refrigerators and ice makers
- Dishwashers
- Washing machines
- Other accessible fixtures and appliance connections
Our team can also coordinate the overlapping work around cabinetry, mounting, appliance installation, drywall, paint and tile.
We do not provide major rough plumbing, extensive pipe relocation, building repiping or new sewer and stack work.
For clients, designers and property managers, this distinction is useful.
The major construction team can complete the hidden infrastructure.
The Guys can take responsibility for the fixtures, equipment, finishing details and final readiness of the space.
Complete Bathroom Fixture Installation
A bathroom may include a vanity, sink, faucet, toilet, bidet seat, shower trim, accessories and several mounting details.
Instead of booking each item separately, our team can approach the room as one coordinated finish-installation project.
Fixtures are unpacked and checked.
The vanity is assembled or mounted.
The sink and faucet are installed.
The toilet and bidet equipment are positioned.
Shower fixtures and accessories are completed.
Related wall, tile or paint touch-ups are handled as required.
The objective is not a list of completed tasks.
It is a bathroom that is ready to use.Complete Kitchen Fixture & Connection Setup
Kitchen finish plumbing may involve more than one faucet and one sink.
A modern Manhattan kitchen can include:
- Main kitchen sink
- Prep or bar sink
- Faucet and pot filler
- Garbage disposal
- Dishwasher
- Refrigerator water connection
- Ice maker
- Water filtration
- Instant hot-water dispenser
- Chilled or sparkling-water equipment
Our Plumbing Help, Appliance Installation, Furniture Assembly and General Mounting services can be coordinated around the complete room.
The cabinets, appliances and fixtures should not feel like separate contractor appointments.
They should function as one kitchen.
Plumbing Help for Manhattan Businesses
We serve offices, retail properties, restaurants, cafés, bars, hotels, salons, spas and other Manhattan businesses—but our commercial offering remains focused on everyday fixtures and equipment connections.
Business Plumbing Help may include:
- Faucet repair and installation
- Hand-sink and prep-sink fixtures
- Toilet and flushometer fixture service
- Vanity and restroom fixtures
- Minor accessible leaks
- Garbage disposals
- Water filtration
- Refrigerator and ice-machine water connections
- Dishwasher connections
- Fixture maintenance
- Leak investigation
We do not provide commercial drain cleaning, grease-trap service, backflow work, building water-system work, sewer service or full commercial plumbing construction.
Flexible scheduling allows the work to be planned around customer traffic and business hours.
The client gets commercial-level coordination without turning an everyday fixture issue into a construction project.

We work with widely used, premium and designer plumbing fixtures.

The brand name helps identify the product family.
The model and internal component determine the actual repair.
For premium fixtures, provide photographs, model information, product links and installation documentation whenever possible.
OEM Parts & Material Pickup
For fixture repairs, we use
OEM cartridges, valves and replacement parts selected for the manufacturer and model.
Universal components are not substituted when the fixture requires a specific OEM part.
Clients may provide new faucets, sinks, vanities, toilets, filters and other fixtures for installation.
If the correct equipment or material needs to be purchased, our Guys can arrange pickup and delivery from the supplier.
Materials are billed separately from labor.
For designer products and special-order components, availability and manufacturer lead times may affect the schedule.
Better information before the visit means fewer assumptions inside the property.
Scheduled Plumbing Maintenance
Everyday plumbing benefits from periodic attention, especially in properties with many fixtures or periods when the owner is away.
Scheduled maintenance may include:
- Checking faucets for drips and movement
- Inspecting beneath sinks and vanities
- Reviewing toilet operation
- Inspecting visible fixture seals and connections
- Checking appliance hoses and water lines
- Replacing filter cartridges
- Testing drinking-water equipment
- Checking leak sensors
- Reviewing shower and tub controls
- Inspecting accessible disposal connections
- Preparing fixtures before an owner's arrival
- Seasonal water-fixture checks at second homes
Drain cleaning and shutoff-valve service are not part of our maintenance program.
The objective is to identify small fixture problems before they become larger property problems.
Property Management Plumbing Help
Property managers should not need to begin a new contractor search every time a faucet drips, a toilet runs or a filter needs replacement.
We provide Plumbing Help for individual luxury residences, rental properties, corporate apartments, offices, hospitality properties and owners with multiple homes.
For properties we service regularly, our team can become familiar with:
- Fixture brands and models
- Building-access procedures
- COI requirements
- Household or facilities contacts
- Maintenance schedules
- Filter and cartridge requirements
- Previous service history
- Owner preferences
A scheduled visit can address several rooms and several fixtures at once.
The property manager sends one request.
The Guys coordinate the work.
The owner receives one service relationship instead of a new vendor for every faucet.
One property. Many fixtures. One trusted point of contact.Plumbing Help When You Are Not Home
The owner does not need to spend the day supervising a fixture installation.
With authorized access, we coordinate service through:
Building management • Property managers • Household staff • Personal assistants • Doormen • Office managers • Restaurant managers • Other authorized representativesBefore the visit, send:
- Description of the problem or project
- Photos or video
- Fixture manufacturer and model
- Product link or installation manual
- Property location
- Access instructions
- COI requirements
- Preferred appointment time
The more we know before arrival, the better prepared the Guy can be.
The work is completed.
The property is left clean.
The client continues with the day.
